Care of the Body FLOOR I - BATHS - MASSAGES - NUTRITIONAL COUNSELING
Services offered : • SPA Individuals can enjoy a full range of high-quality spas services and treatments, from massages and facials to other full body treatments that reduce stress, soothe muscles, and provide overall relaxation and rejuvenation for the body and mind. • HYDROTHERAPY Hydrotherapy refers to the medicinal use of water at varying temperatures and pressures, to simulate blood circulation and treat symptoms of certain health conditions. Offered under the direction of skilled practitioners, hydrotherapy treatments include whirlpool and Jacuzzi, cold water treatments, mineral bath, ice packs, vapors, saunas, sitz baths, and water massage. • DIETARY Accentuating freshness and wholesomeness, vegetables are cultivated in the onsite garden at the Orpheus Center, and chefs prepare meals using primarily natural and organic ingredients. Dietitians adapt the menus to the specific needs of each individual—taking into account personal and cultural preferences, health needs, and tolerance levels. FLOOR II - SUB-AQUATIC MUSIC & HEARING DIAGNOSIS
Services offered : • SUB-AQUATIC MUSIC The music and sound system within the sub-aquatic pools sends tactile sound vibrations directly to the inner ear, where they are translated into electrical (sound) signals that stimulate the brain. This technology produces "bone conduction listening." The sensory effect relaxes the body while also energizing the mind. Sub-aquatic music is also beneficial for the hearing-impaired. http://www.redolfi-music.com/index_n.htm • HEARING DIAGNOSIS AND REEDUCATION To allow visitors to determine their level of hearing ability, health care resources in this area include analytic technology and equipment that meets all standards for Audiometric Analysis (hearing test). Qualified practitioners also offer information and guidance for preventing various hearing problems. In specific cases, practitioners will provide instruction for hearing re-education (acoustic training), and may make referrals to reputable, qualified practitioners in other areas of the country. It is important to note that the center does not provide or sell hearing aids. FLOOR III - CHROMOTHERAPY & LIGHT THERAPY
Services offered : • CHROMOTHERAPY Chromotherapy is recognized as a complimentary method to other therapies and treatments for specific health conditions. The techniques can advance and enhance recovery for stroke victims, and for individuals who suffer from chronic depression. This area features solarium rooms enclosed with multi-hued glass panels to achieve specific therapeutic benefits for various conditions. Tinted water and colored gels maximize the results of chromotherapy. • LIGHT THERAPY Light therapy—also known as phototherapy—involves strategic exposure to sunlight, or specific types of light such as light-emitting diodes, fluorescent lamps, wavelengths of light using lasers, and other light forms. The lights are administered for a prescribed amount of time and at specific times of day. Light therapy is used to treat acne vulgaris and neonatal jaundice. Light therapy focused on the retina is used to treat circadian rhythm disorders—such as delayed sleep phase syndrome—and may also be used to treat Seasonal Affective Disorder. In some cases, light therapy is also used to treat non-seasonal psychiatric disorders. • VISION DIAGNOSIS AND REEDUCATION To allow visitors to determine their level of sight ability, health care resources in this area include analytic technology and equipment that meets all standards for Optometric Analysis. Qualified practitioners also offer information and guidance for preventing various sight problems. In specific cases, practitioners will provide information for sight reeducation—explaining that sight is a learned ability, vision emanates from within the mind, and muscles will regenerate if exercised. Practitioners may also make referrals to reputable, qualified practitioners in other areas of the country. It is important to note that the center does not provide or sell eyewear or vision correction products.
