ALAIN AMOUYAL

CEO and ORIGINATOR of The Orpheus Project

CO-FOUNDER OF CATHARSIS TECHNIQUE & CAP - Composer of CT & CAP-Programmatic Music.

Trained and practicing for over 30 years as a dental surgeon, with his DDS diploma from the Aix-Marseille II University (France), Dr. Amouyal began his musical journey as a guitarist and bassist in a rock band at age thirteen. He is one of the designers of an internationally recognized recording studio, which he directed for 15 years.

As a composer, Dr. Amouyal has had over 15 CDs recorded and released by his company Silcord S.A. Publishing, and distributed by Eroica Classical Recordings. He had the privilege of recording his first symphonic work with the London Symphony Orchestra and the London Voices at Abbey Road Studio 1 in London in 1999.

Dr. Amouyal began improvising on the organ at age twenty-three, and followed with formal studies in ear-training and music theory. Realizing that his organ improvisations had a profound effect on those listening, he began to play recordings of his music at his dental practice and remarked that the majority of his patients experienced a release of tension and relaxation.

A psychiatrist colleague became curious as to what therapeutic effect Dr. Amouyal's music would have on his patients, and began using the music for graphic expression sessions in his clinic. A 5-hour musical program was created, intended for use by psychiatrists and psychotherapists, who still use it 25 years later with great success.

Together with Chantal Desmoulins, and with the cooperation of mental health professionals in France and Switzerland, Dr. Amouyal experimented with thousands of drawings from thousands of patients as he selected which of his compositions he would construct into what became the central tool of The Catharsis Technique and the Catharsis Application Program.

Dr. Amouyal is presently developing a large-scale art-therapy project, The Orpheus Project.

CHANTAL DESMOULINS

Director of Research at The Orpheus Institute

CO-FOUNDER OF CATHARSIS TECHNIQUE & CAP - EDUCATOR & TRAINER

Born in France, Ms. Desmoulins channeled her passion for research and her intellectual curiosity into the study of foreign and French literature and linguistics at the University of Grenoble. She holds a DEA (advanced diploma equivalent to six years of post-graduate study) from The Center for Research of the Imaginary (Centre de recherche sur l'imaginaire – CRI, Stendhal University - Grenoble 3, France), where she focused her research on the study of the organized system of images.

In 1981 she met Dr. Alain Amouyal, and was so impressed by the psychological power of his music that she invested her considerable expertise in symbolism, anthropology, psychology and pedagogy into the organization of his research, drafting of a therapeutic protocol and analyzing the results.

Since 1985, Ms. Desmoulins has supervised the implementation of The Catharsis Technique – a specialized method of graphic expression under the induction of Dr. Amouyal's music, designed to facilitate the emergence of repressed emotions – at facilities in France, Switzerland, and the United States. She trains medical and mental health personnel nationally and internationally and has delivered more than 100 conferences world-wide.

Today, Ms. Desmoulins specializes in the training of practitioners for private practice, retirement homes, and rehabilitation centers, and supervises the analysis of the patients' drawings. This ongoing relationship with both the practitioners and the patients allows her to ensure the utmost quality in the application of The Catharsis Technique, and to maximize the positive results for the patients.

Dr JANIS GRUSKA, N.D.

Director of Clinical Research

As a 1991 graduate of the National College of Naturopathic Medicine, Dr. Janis Gruska offers the best in integrative medical care. In her practice she strives to create an attentive and compassionate atmosphere where a person can heal and be heard. The fusion of modern medical knowledge with traditional healing methods assures that everyone who seeks her help receives comprehensive medical care with individualized therapeutic support.

During her professional career, Dr. Gruska has chosen to share her knowledge of naturopathic medicine through teaching. She has taught at the Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine and is currently an academic and clinical associate professor in gynecology and pediatrics at Bastyr University California.

Dr. Gruska incorporates an extensive selection of complementary medical treatments which include homeopathy, clinical nutrition, botanical medicine, and mind/body counseling. Her private practice in primary care medicine focuses on the healthcare of women and children with an emphasis on supporting positive change through life transitions.

Over the past decade Dr. Gruska has been a part of the Catharsis Application Program professional staff. She has played a key role in the adaptation of instructional material and integration of the program in the United States. As a trained CAP facilitator, she is actively working on incorporating the CAP methodology as a mind body technique at the Bastyr University Clinic in California.

Dr. Gruska is pleased to serve on the Board and to be of service as a key advisor for The Orpheus Institute.

MEEGAN ROGERS

Assistant Secretary

Meegan Rogers graduated from PIMA Medical Institute in Denver, Colorado with a degree in Respiratory Therapy. She has worked at University Hospitals such as University of Virginia, and Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital. She is currently working at Virginia Commonwealth University Health as a Respiratory Therapist, in Pulmonary Diagnostics, in Richmond, Virginia. Her career in healthcare started as a Home Health Aid with the Dominican Sisters non-profit organization, servicing those in need.

Meegan is presently a student at Virginia Commonwealth University finishing an undergraduate degree in Psychology. She is working towards her goal of learning the Catharsis Application Program, (CAP) to facilitate CAP as a holistic counselor in the future.

Meegan has experienced firsthand the profound effects of the CAP and Dream analysis methods. She has always been passionate about Psychology, Metaphysics, Children, Nature, and Natural health. She would like to combine these passions with CAP and Dream Analysis in the future, in collaboration with The Orpheus Institute. She presently assists with administrative duties as needed for The Orpheus Institute.

A former nurse and health advisor, Marie-Christine Plumejeaud takes an informed and human approach to health in the broadest sense of the term, which - through her practice, encounters and experiences - has become the focus of a personal development work that she has been able to open up to an increasingly wide audience.

She has trained in various approaches:

- Evolution through touch and massage - Nathalie Alvarez's School of Body Awareness

- Affiliation to the International Federation of Relaxology (F.I.R) where she obtained the following certifications:

University Diploma in Psychosomatics Relaxation Therapies and Psychotherapies with Body Mediation (Faculty of Medicine of Montpellier).

Commercially: she has taken part in alternative medicine fairs in Paris and throughout France, Spain and Switzerland.

Entrepreneurially: she was a member of BNI (Business Network International) in Castres and then of the Association des Dirigeants du Tarn. She is currently a member of RED - Réseautage En Direct - in France and Europe.

Her meeting with Alain Amouyal and Chantal Desmoulins was decisive in her discovery of the association musique-dessin through the CAP Program.

Today a psycho-practitioner and CAP facilitator, she uses this artistic mediation with a diverse audience, particularly in connection with the psychiatric sector where she worked for years.

OLIVIER MALABIAU

Development Manager

Olivier Malabiau is a communications and human resources consultant and trainer with 30 years of experience in various sectors such as mass distribution, banking, industry and training. He began his career at Carrefour, where he held the positions of manager and internal consultant on the social climate. He then managed human resources department for the SIPROMAD Group in Madagascar and the Banque des Mascareignes in Mauritius.

On his return to France, he assisted companies with the recruitment of disabled persons and worked as a business developer and consultant in professional integration. He is currently developing communication and development strategies for the association Avec De Ci De L'Art and therapists.

Author of several books, including the recent 2071 Humour Nation. His expertise is based on an innovative and creative approach, combining leadership, autonomy and a results-oriented mindset.

He has put forward an approach to better understand the unknown and the unexpected: embracing surprise and knowing how to bring it about.

For more than five years, he has been interested in the work of the Orpheus Institute, particularly the Catharsis Application Program, Initiatory Psycho-Astrology and the study of dreams, to the extent that he now actively involved in the Institute's development.

ERIC GUERRINI

CAP Facilitator

A hotel management teacher with over 30 years of experience, he has developed expertise in teaching and support, cultivating an approach that combines excellence, creativity and reflection. Passionate about the link between taste, art and science, he passes on skills by promoting innovation and sensory development.

An opera singer since 2000, his artistic streak develops with the creation of shows. Within the Montpellier academy, he works towards the understanding and recognition of the art of taste. In this context, he initiates and supports innovative projects combining the art of taste with other arts, food professionals and dance, theater, singing, literature and visual artists.

A researcher at heart, sensitive to the evolution and path of the human person and himself, he is training in the accompaniment of people with different techniques.

Catharsis Application Program, has established itself as a proven and powerful process. He seizes the opportunity to train and become a CAP facilitator.

NATHAN GUERRINI

Herbalist Advisor

Nathan began studying violin at the Béziers Conservatory at the age of six and obtained his diploma twelve years later.

At the same time, he took up artistic gymnastics, which allowed him to channel his boundless energy, before turning to basketball, which gave him the discipline he needed.

After ten years working in the hotel industry as a restaurant waiter, Nathan was called back to pursue his dream.

This had been his answer as a child when asked what he wanted to do when he grew up: “Help others.”

Many valuable mistakes helped him understand that helping others starts with helping oneself.

For several years, he has been studying and researching medicinal plants with the aim of serving others. He will soon complete his training and master botany, plant properties, dosages, contraindications, and potential dangers in the field of phytotherapy and aromatherapy for family or professional use.

He will thus bring its contribution to the psycho-somatic researches of the Orpheus Institute team.

DOMINIQUE JULLIARD (1934-2018)

Co-founder of The Orpheus Institute

Dominique designed with Alain Amouyal, originator of the Orpheus Project, the first sketches for The Orpheus Center and directed the Swiss team of architects, civil engineers, and consultants. He assisted Alain Amouyal in the optimization and completion of the design when the latter realized the entire 3D concept.

He was President Non Executive of Silcord US Productions, which he incorporated in LA as the operational base for the Orpheus Project in 2001.

He directed the concept and building, then exploitation for 20 years of a professional recording facility – . He was appointed Producer and Finance Director, in charge of funding and marketing of this structure, as a tool for the Orpheus Project.

Before that, he acted as an independent architect for 30 years in Geneva (Switzerland).

He holds a Diploma in Architecture of the Federal Polytechnic School in Zürich.
