RESEARCH

Research Partnerships A central theme in our mission is to understand the connection between arts and healing. Through research partnerships with healthcare practitioners, neuroscientists, individual researchers, academic institutions, integrative medicine initiatives, mental health professionals and others seeking innovations in healing, we are building a body of work that advances and accelerates the frontiers of whole-person healing and wellness, especially the integration of mind, spirit and body. Research partnerships bring valuable expertise, resources and perspectives to The Orpheus Institute, while our partners access our intellectual capital, clinical experience and papers, and our cutting-edge research around graphic expression and emotional healing. The goal of our research partnerships is to investigate and apply solutions for mental and emotional challenges using human creativity and expression. Our emphasis is on applied research that can translate into methodologies, programs, services, and / or expressive media productions for the advancement of integrative medicine techniques.

The Orpheus Institute is looking for neuroscientists research partners interested in exploring how the brain reacts to drawing under musical induction, one of the Orpheus Institute's flagship methodologies. Music and art are found in every single human culture. For millennia they been recognized for their therapeutic value and healing qualities. The ancient Greek and Egyptian physicians believed that music and imagery could heal both the body and the soul. With the advent of modern medicine music and art were disregarded as viable therapeutic tools, but there is a renewed interest in understanding how the use of music and art affects patients and physicians.

BIODYNAMOTHERAPY

The Orpheus Institute wishes to rekindle research in Biodynamotherapy, discovered by Joseph Salvat in the 1930s. Through his research, Salvat established that energy emanating from metal circuits causes changes in the vital phenomena of living organisms. He created Biodynamotherapy, a therapy using an element which had never before been specifically identified in the human body: electromagnetic energy absorbed by quanta, in infinitesimal amounts, that promote good health without harming the body. Each circuit has an effect relative to the frequency of the metal used—Salvat selected 14 frequencies—an effect that is specific and elective on the cells, tissues and organs.

From ancient mythologies to Jungian practices; homeopathy to soul-journey; dream exploration to DNA we are seeking psychological, sociological, spiritual, historical, biological, mythological, or artistic frameworks that advance knowledge about the origins, influences, and transformation of human consciousness. Our goal is to progress the collective understanding of the terrain of human inner life and the structures that can enrich human self-discovery and empowerment.
