The Orpheus Experience - Concept Board
Orpheus, Seal of the Eternal Couple CONCEPT BOARD
What is a Concept Board? "A concept Board is a plan for a film/video using easy-to-find images gathered from the web. The goal of this method is to create a rough “sketch” or preview of what will ultimately be your own original piece (made from footage, images, and music you shoot or create from scratch). This technique is great for people who can’t draw, need a storyboard or shooting plan for their project, or want a quick visual method for creating a script." (quoted from Artwarestudios)
Live and Filmed Multi-Media & Virtual Reality Stand-alone PILOT for 15 Episode Series (2016-2017)
CONCEPT BOARD 2017
Prepared in 2016, completed in 2017, the Pilot presented here exposes some of the fundamental situations evoking the fall and the rise of the hero, in his attempt to revive Eurydice, as well as his efforts to regain his position of creator, making the link between heaven and earth. This Concept Board movie is accompanying the treatment of The Orpheus Experience Pilot, a project for a Live and Filmed Multi-Media & Virtual Reality Stand-alone PILOT for 15 Episode Series. This non-profit movie is provided to Production and Dance Companies for informational purposes only. All footage are merely a compilation of footage and themes to show and demonstrate the general concept of the Spectacle we want to produce and not intended to be the final work. We do not claim any ownership over it, except for the 44min 23 soundtrack, extracted from Frames for a Fairy Tale which of which Alain Amouyal is the composer.

CONCEPT BOARD 2006 — 150 Sketches
In 2006, thanks to concept artist Josh Kim, we created 150 sketches during October and November 2006, averaging two or three each day. Indeed, this was a challenge, for as Josh later confided, this was much more than he imagined possible in such a short period of time. Josh ws extremely professional and quite talented. I was preparing the "compos" at night, which he then finalized during the day. We completed the main compositions just in time to present the story to screenwriter John Winston Rainey, who arrived mid-December. This work provided a very helpful guideline. 15 KEY EVENTS — CONCEPT BOARD 2000
These 15 key events expose spectators to diverse situations experienced by the story’s protagonist. Over millennia—in personal and inter-personal scenarios—the character becomes entrenched in the perpetual game between the Forces of Shadow and Light. These events illuminate the “zapping” between dreams and reality—which spectators, in turn, will vicariously experience. In Spring 2000—after a two-month sojourn in the US—I returned to France. It was time to finalize some compositions and structure some ideas for the scenery of the show. When we became acquainted with Industrial Light & Magic in San Francisco, and Digital Domain in Los Angeles, Dominique and I became intrigued with the work of Jamie Rama, a young concept artist who, as we envisioned it, would be perfect for our team. By the time we returned to France, the artist had already been hired for a huge contract, but he referred us to Sylvain Deprez. As it turned out, Sylvain was already working with Ridley Scott, but referred us to Hélène Giraud andThomas Szabo—two French designers living in Paris. At last, we had our team—and the ensuing collaboration was productive. (15 drawings) DESIGN PRODUCTION: Hélène Giraud, Thomas Szabo ARTISTIC DIRECTION: Alain Amouyal © 2000-2025 Alain Amouyal
